HI. I am salesforce admin/developer, working on an integration with Netsuite. One of the things I am trying to understand about netsuite is the relationship between Subsidiaries and Customers. At the moment, we are creating duplicate Customer records whenever a customer works with more than one of our subsidiaries. I would like to avoid/fix this duplication because we're not doing that in salesforce. There is a setting in Netsuite that enables a customer to be associated with multiple subsidiaries. I am just curious to see if there is anybody out there willing to give some basic guidance on this setting. Perhaps there is a blogpost on it. I'm just looking to learn about any pitfalls with it or suggested steps for implementation. Thanks!!

you can lookup the NetSuite help topic "Assigning Subsidiaries to a Customer"
there are related topics under it about limitations and best practices

you can turn off the multisubsidiary customer feature if that is not yet being utilized. Else, you have to remove the subdiaries linked to the customer and set up a separate customer for them

Yes, that is the feature we want to turn on and trying to learn what happens when it is turned on...especially when we already have many duplicate customers. Is there a way to merge them? I will look into the help topic.

Yes, they can be merged
