I cannot get the tracking # field to show up on the sales order. I have the tracking numbers populated on the IF, they even return on saved searches, but the field on the UI form wont display. The field is set to visible on the form...any ideas?

On the IF, are you using Packages > Package Tracking Number?

It's not a body field so I can't get the internal ID, its on the packages sublist. The Sales order has no field visible so I can't get that one either

You actually answered my question, the tracking # column is not native, so it's not going to show up there unless you customize. The Tracking # field is hidden until a fulfillment has occurred, and is natively found under the Shipping tab. Another tip: to get the internal ID of a column without going into customization sections is to run a search, and put it in a formula field, that will pull the internal ID.
