Are Leads/Prospects/Customers with a Type of 'Individual' also considered contacts? A custom field that is for contacts in one subsidiary is showing up on a custom lead web form for another subsidiary which is perplexing...
t
Using type "Individual" causes the Relationships/Contacts subtab to be suppressed: not able to add Contacts to an Individual. The "Individual" is still a Customer record though and not a Contact.
c
isnt there a lead flow that changes individuals to contacts of companies once converted? maybe that is working here?
t
Not that I am aware of. A Lead/Prospect/Customer is either an Individual or Company. Company's can have Contacts.
g
I don't think they would be converted in anyway, since it's for the commerce portion of our company. Just very bizarre to see this occurring. Was brought to my attention as it was a field i created for our contacts, and it was marked as mandatory and messing up a custom web form.
As a workaround, I made the field mandatory at the form level, and not at the field level so it could be removed from the web form, still perplexing regardless...

Hey Tim...there really is a feature like I mentioned...I've used it....
Hey Greg did you review the field itself? custom entity fields can be applied to both records...
g
Sure did. It's set to only apply to Contacts
t
@C_Billings Yes, I am aware of the Lead conversion feature but wasn't aware it would automatically convert to Prospect and then create a Contact IF the Lead is marked as an Individual (?). I would assume in this case that it wouldn't create a Contact.
