Can anyone shed some light on the best way to give users access to a custom P&L report without giving them the Financial Statements permission (so they get all P&L reports which we dont want)? Netsuite support just says its an enhancement request, but surely it can be done?

Is it something that the users generate as needed or is the report run on a schedule? If a schedule, you can export it and put it in a folder w/ folder permissions for the users.

I believe that's what granting access on the Access subtab (Click Customize on the Report, then go to the More Options tab) does. Per the little blurb there:

Select individual names or group names to give others access to your custom report. Your selection will over-ride the standard, role-based permission associated with the target – please exercise caution in enabling access

You'd probably have to do the same with the detail/drill-down report too or they'd likely get an error if they tried to drill down.

Granting access doesnt work - they still get the same permissions error

Confirming RJMNS answer works. I suggest revisiting it. Be sure to use Access, not Audience.
