Is there any way to get saved searches to export to excel with particular column widths? I've seen that you can insert some html to get the UI to display with certain column widths, but it seems like excel exported column widths are unable to be changed.

Hi James, you can use CloudExtend Excel for NetSuite to import your search directly from Excel. Immediately after you can run a macro to set up your column widths. Of course you can do same (w/ macro) for a regular CSV export from Excel.

@Chris Corcoran, I'm really looking for the actual export from NetSuite to have the formatting. I'm wanting to email it to an email that dumps into a box folder replete with certain formatting. Trying to have to not to have an interim editing step, since it will go out pretty frequently.

you can edit the column widths in a saved search by editing the column header width w/ html
should export the same way i think

@James Morris - just a thought - does PDF show full column widths? Excel downloads do not.
j
@NTG Not as far as I can tell. If you figure out a way for export, let me know.

@NTG -can you show a quick sample of how / where to insert html in the column header

i have a document on it somewhere
it was in the RMNSG rocky mtn netsuite user group meeting about 6 months ago

There's a couple SA articles on it (e.g. Answer Id: 18388) but that only works in the UI
n
but you can edit a saved search to display column headers with a fixed width
okay maybe only works in the UI then
couldn't remember if it exports or not

I mean, it might, but I couldn't get it working after playing around with it for an hour or so
@Ankur Sanghi Good thought. I think they'll still want it in excel. But that's a good "here's what I got if you're too lazy resize the columns yourself" option
...and pdf is apparently limited to 30 coumns, so no go on that
