I asked in administration the other day how to remove the blank and

options for users on a list type custom record. I was told that unless the user has permission to edit custom records, that option should not be visible. Well, it's apparently visible to all users on my newly created record. Does anyone know how I can fix this?
I realize that as admin and owner of the record type, I can see them, but not everyone should be able to.
