You are receiving this notification because you have a sandbox account. A new feature for 2019.1, account-specific domains to access the NetSuite UI, makes simultaneous access to multiple accounts easier. Before we implement this feature in production accounts, we are activating account-specific domains for the UI in all sandbox accounts.
This notification is to inform you that the account-specific domain for your sandbox account will be active as of February 6, 2019. Users will still access the sandbox as they always have. After a successfully switching to a sandbox role, the browser automatically redirects users to the account-specific domain of the sandbox..
What is an Account-Specific Domain?
An account-specific domain is a domain that is unique to your account, because it includes your account ID in the URL.
Account-specific domains do not contain a data center identifier.
Account-specific domains for SuiteTalk (web services) and RESTlets have been available for the past several releases.
The 2019.1 release introduces a new feature: account-specific domains in the NetSuite UI.
When your sandbox has an account-specific domain, it will be easier to access both your production and sandbox accounts at the same time, in separate tabs in the same browser. See the procedure in Simultaneous Access to Production and Sandbox Accounts below.
What is Changing?
As of February 6, 2019, users will be able to work in production and sandbox accounts in parallel. Users will access the sandbox account in the usual way, by logging in to NetSuite at https:// system.netsuite.com. The default role for most users is in the production account. Users can then choose a sandbox role to switch to the sandbox account. At this point, the browser automatically redirects the user to the account-specific domain of the sandbox.
Currently, when you log in to your NetSuite production account, the URL in your browser looks like this:
https:// system.netsuite.com/app/center/card.nl?sc=-29&whence=
The URL in the browser changes when you switch to a role in a sandbox account where the account-specific domain is active. In this example, your production account ID is 123456, and your sandbox account ID 123456_SB1. As of February 6, 2019, when you switch from a role in production to a role in your sandbox, the browser redirects you to the account-specific domain of your sandbox, and the URL in your browser changes to this:
https:// 123456-sb1.app.netsuite.com/app/center/card.nl?sc=-29&whence=
Recommended Actions
After this change is implemented on February 6, 2019, ensure that everything works as expected for your business test cases. Take note any unusual situations that you encounter.
Note: You may need to update your company's firewall to allow access from your account-specific domain. See Firewall Configuration below.
Simultaneous Access to Production and Sandbox Accounts
To access your production and sandbox account at the same time:
After this change, you will be able to access both your production account and your sandbox account simultaneously. The method for doing so is slightly different than the method currently documented in the Help Center.
Open your browser and log in to your NetSuite production account.
Select a role in your sandbox account, but right-click and specify "Open in a different tab". (Note: As soon as the sandbox role session is active, your production account session is terminated.)
Click the tab with your production account role.
Click Login and log in to NetSuite again.
