The maximum matrix item combination as of the moment is 2,000. Enhancement#111872 is filed to increase this limit.

As an alternate solution, we may ask customers to create multiple items to accommodate the limit. Please see the example below:

Combination is 25 colors * 10 sizes * 10 finishes. We may ask the customer to create 10 items for the different finishes, then input the colors and sizes as the matrix option.
