If I run and Inventory detail report today to show Item, Location, Qty OH and Average Cost, I need to substract the July transactions to get as close as we can to the Inventory on the last day of June.
• What will it be the easiest to do this?

I am probably not understanding the question correctly, but why can't the Inventory Valuation Summary or Detail report be run for the exact time period you are looking for? Sounds like that's the out of the box functionality you should use for this.

It can't be done. Inventory Detail is a saved search which does not support a point in time analysis like reports can. Also since inventory detail doesn't have a date field or system notes you can't report on when it was created
This is one big flaw with NetSuites bin management is that there are no time stamps on bin detail
Maybe it might come with lot numbering and expiry dates but doesn't come with standard bin management
Can't even tell simple things like how long has a components been sitting in inbound staging and stuff like that

Inventory Valuation is a canned report out of Netsuite. And you can click on Detail to get the point-in-time analysis. We must be talking about different things here.
