Hi all, We are using inbound shipments to capture freight, and other fees that are distributed on an item level on the respective item receipts. We use the weight allocation method. We've noticed that on a item receipt the distribution is correct. However, the freight ratio from inbound to receipt doesn't make sense and i can't seem to find out out the inbound divvies up the freight to multiple receipts on the inbound. I'm at a loss so any help is greatly appreciated!

Item a weight = 2kg Item b weight = 4kg Inbound shipment a • 2 x item a • 2 x item b Freight on inbound shipment = £100 So we would do £100 / ((2*2) + (4*2)) = £100 / 12 = £8.33 for each KG So if we receive a quantity of 1 of item a the allocated landed cost would be: £8.33 x 2 which is £16.66 This is because a quantity of 1 is 2kg

That's exactly how I imagined that the freight would be calculated. However, an item receipt pulled FAR more freight than it should have. it doesn't make sense for any of the other allocation methods either.for instance total freight on inbound was $18,510 and total weight on the receipt was 17.98. However the freight was $9,917 instead of $6,678. Have you ever seen something like that?
