has anyone had success in getting the fields on the inbound shipment record searchable with a global search?

consider creating a custom field (non-saving etc) which sources directly from the field you want in the global search. and marking that new as available in Global Search. Messy but workable. you could make this new field on a subtab so it doesn't confuse users.
