Does anyone know of a place to see which record types come along with which modules?

For actual modules, probably suiteanswers is your best bet for this, although I don't think it'll be quite as straightforward as you're hoping. For "modules" that are added as bundles (e.g. Fixed Assets) you can look at the bundle components and that'll give you exactly what you're asking for.

Thanks for that info. I know NS is not very forth coming with this info and you are correct that it is not Straight forward. I expect that the list I am thinking of is simply NOT available unless someone else is already working on it.

if the custom record list defines a bundle ID for the record then you can lookup the bundle and see all the component of the bundle
