Hello fellow Netsuite super users. I’ve been pondering a more strategic question. For those that can comment, what alternative platforms were you exploring before implementing Netsuite in your company? And if you could name one thing that made you choose NS, what would it be?

As a long time NS user ( over 15 yrs) I might be biased toward NS, though over the years I worked on multiple other ERP platforms like MS Dynamics GP, Sage X3, S4 Hana, Oracle fusion etc. As tier one ERP Oracle Fusion would be a good choice, Cloud based and complete package, next contender would be MS Dynamics 365 the new one (GP sucks). For manufacturing Sage X3 is a good choice for mid market. Infor is pretty good for contract related businesses, they have good manufacturing support too. S4 Hana is powerful but need an army to run it, bloated process, user unfriendly and incomplete archaic structure. SAP will nickel and time you, also not Cloud ready yet, need a client to setup configurations. Open source Odoo is an excellent choice robust and modular will meet every need, that's why Toyota is using it. My two cents worth

Intaact for a long while was the only other real SaaS competitor to NetSuite. tl;dr less features, but lower price point. Can't really speak very knowledgeably about how good/bad the actual user experience is, as I'm also a decade+ into only NetSuite.

I mainly liked Netsuite because we could catch the disreputable employees who were trying to steal from the company…..LOL
