I created an intercompany PO with lot numbers/inventory detail entered. When I generate the intercompany SO, the lot numbers/inventory detail was not copied over to the SO from the PO. Is this the standard behavior?

I haven’t seen it done that way before. Usually, the fulfiller of the PO fills in the lot numbers on the item fulfillment. Why are you specifying lot numbers on a PO?

Because it's an intercompany transaction that is handled by the same person. We already know which lot numbers to purchase, so we can enter it already on the PO. Hoping that we can avoid entering it twice.
