We have an equity account that isn't displayed in the balance sheet among other equity accounts. Can someone explain me or give me a hint, why this account is not in the balance sheet?
The account retained earnings has the number 3030, why is it not listed und er the subaccount 3000 - Equity?
p
Did you set the '3000 - Equity' account as the subaccount on the Retained Earnings account?
a
Yes, the current settings are the same as 3020 or 3040

Did you use the standard Retained Earnings account or did you create a new Retained Earnings account? The reason I ask is your account has the number 3030 in the front but the balance sheet doesn't include the number.
I'd recommend replacing account 3030 with the out-of-the-box retained earnings account (the one without a number)
a
I can honestly only assume, that this is the standard Retained Earnings account. Our integration partner implemented our charts in the beginning and there are no System Notes available
p
I'm 99% certain you have two retained earnings accounts. One with a 3030 and one with no account number. You'd need to check the Account listing to confirm. I've seen this mistake before from implementation teams.

The second one might be the 3040 - Legal appropriations of retained earnings. So the current 3030 Retained Earnings is the standard account and I'd need to create a custom account to replace it? In the system notes the default account number was 3000, then changed to 3001 and then to 3030

I can't tell from the screenshot if the account is the standard out-of-the-box retained earnings account. Usually they don't include GL numbers to start. I'd look at the internal ID of the account and see if it has an internal ID of 52.
a
the internal ID is 52

Do you have a screenshot of any accounts without a GL number?
a
These are the numberless accounts
p
What is the internal ID for the account on the first screenshot? You run a custom TB and include the internal ID field
a
on the first screenshot the Retained Eearnings account internal ID was 52

Sorry, I'm not sure what the issue is then. Good luck figuring it out. Do you mind posting an update when you do? Curious to know what the issue is

Thanks for your help tho! I will update here as soon as it's solved
I found an article for the Retained Earnings. https://www.sikich.com/insight/retained-earnings-concept-in-netsuite/
l
I believe that the Account Number of the system-generated Retained Earnings doesn't really appear in the standard Balance Sheet report even if there's one. That's the behavior of the NetSuite accounts that I worked on.
p
Maybe it is a system preference. I've modified the system generated Retained Earnings account for my NetSuite clients before.

Did you ever before try to customise existing report?

There, you should manually edit criteria for accounts being displayed
