Can you make a sublist field mandatory without a script or workflow?

You can make a custom field mandatory in the field settings when you create it You can only make native field mandatory via script or workflow (Accept I think dept class and location you can make mandatory in accounting preferences)

So a field like "Excepted receipt date", I wouldnt be able to edit and make mandatory? @AI1

You can customize the form, in form level you are able to set the field as mandatory.

@Caroline Lacy yes for expected receipt date you would need a workflow or script to make it mandatory
