Is there a functionality/bundle/suiteApp similar to small balance write off if they have overpaid? Small balance write off create credit memo for under payments

as far as I know no pre baked solution out there. You should be able to do that by workflow - use a search to isolate the overpayment based on the threshold then create the credit memo. Scripting would also follow the same logic

Just curious, what should happen if they overpay? Right now, we just leave it as unapplied in the Customer Payment until we can allocate it to future open invoices.

@luis I agree it should just sit on open A/r balance it's same thing as credit memo, I will need to ask them. Do they want it add it to the invoice?

We built a custom module for this in-house. It's designed similarly to NetSuite Electronic Payments SuiteApp. Users will create a write off batch by searching for transactions based on various criteria (amount remaining, age etc..), which goes through an approval process and then automatically creates write-off transactions and applies them to the source transactions

This is doable by small balance write off, I am trying to figure out what to do with overage, when customer pays extra

Yup it handles both ways, we just raise an invoice against overpayments/credit memos not taken up
