In a transaction saved search of type sales order, If i have main line set to no, is there a way to reference a field in the "main" record of the sales order. for example the main "Location" field. I would like to display it, and filter by it. thanks.

I don’t think you can do this as written. The location field will be different for mainline result rows vs non-mainline result rows because they’re essentially the same column in the database.

@mattdahse Thanks for you response Matt. Yeah, makes sense that that specific field wouldn't work. I wonder if there is anyway to join onto that "mainline". We have a custom field that sits in the "sales information" section on the top of the sales order. there has to be a way to reference that? No?

Yes, almost any other field would be represented on the lines even if it were a body field. Location, class, department, etc are special cases.

Ha! No new books on the radar, but I am doing some in-person training soon.
