Searching GL by name instead of GL number on the GL account field when creating a transaction - I have two different NetSuite Instance, on one of them, when creating a transaction and entering a transaction line, as I type in the GL account, I can use numbers or name to search for the GL account, Example. 1502 - Prepaid, if i type in Pre, it will list all the GL account with the name Pre, how do i duplicate this to my other NetSuite instance? On my other one, I can only use the number to bring up the GL account. I tried various thing such as Preference, Company/ Accounting Setting but can't seem to duplicate that feature

start your search string with a '%'. Then, the prepaid will show up
Prolecto just published a nice LinkedIn article about search wildcards. I'd check that out. Here is the link: https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:ugcPost:6936039305228296192?updateEntityU[…]36039305228296192%2CFEED_DETAIL%2CEMPTY%2CDEFAULT%2Cfalse%29

@Paul Giese I meant search it on the transaction account line, like when entering a bill or invoice, on the GL account field, I want to be able to search it by name

The wildcard works in the GL account field too

@Paul Giese I just tried it and it doesnt seem to work

This is how it works in my instance:

Go to Home > Set Preferences > Maximum Entries in Dropdown. What's your value there? The double arrow facing down that allows you to use wildcard symbols will only be available if the dropdown values exceed the value in the preference. The lower, the better (generally). This preference is also available in the General Preferences (company-wide).

@Luis I set it to 0 and it worked. Thank you so much. Thank you @Paul Giese
