Why would certain item won't show up in assembly build , it has BOM,  master default, it's not inactive 

You can only use assembly build if WIP = F

Are you trying to do assembly build from the item record or from a work order?

Transaction &gt; manufacturing &gt; assembly build 

Maybe the assembly is set to a different subsidiary?

I think it's Non one world account, but will need to check 

Or maybe a department or location or preferred location is set on the item record so it's limited to one of those segments

Location shouldn't be the issue because default is marked yes, I will need to check department and class, but you don't see any other reason then the once you mentioned 

No. It's usually a segment set on the item record that is filtering it out of the list to select

Maybe one of those fields was set at one time and now is hidden on the form so you can't see it anymore

I even see non inventory for sale on the list but not this assembly item it's weird

I guess I'm confused as to where you are or what you are doing.  Can you send a screenshot of the issue?

What about the classification section on the Item Record

Except subsidiary which is parent includes children 

I guess I'm not sure...the only thing I've seen that does this is the filtering from the classifications like subsidiary, locaiton, department, class, etc.  Outside of that I'm not sure

Is the location, department, class fields blank on the item reocord or are the fields hidden on the form?

Just to update this “ item” was a custom field that had parameters for only one item group 

Now I'm super confused but I'm glad you figured it out. Not sure how a custom field was added to the native Build Assemblies screen in NetSuite. 

Implementation consultant hid the native field and rename custom field, because customer only wanted to see certain items 

Yeah, it is, I was jumping up and down when I figured it out
