I have a client who wants to create work orders based on a csv import: Anyone know of the best ways to achieve this? Based on my resources it seems celigo may have an option as well as a custom script ... if anyone can chime it would help dramatically

To my knowledge, you cannot natively import work orders. I wrote a script for our company to allow this. So, yes, you'd have to use a Celigo or custom script to accomplish this.
c
@Suleiry Matos you could use an App like CloudExtend Excel for NetSuite to import work orders to NetSuite from Excel (bypassing CSV).

Thanks!
@Ben Goligowski got it thanks so much !!! by any chance any idea as per how long the custom script process takes vs the celigo way ? andy pros and cons to doing either?

@Suleiry Matos I'm not sure of the cost of a custom script but there are plenty of great consultants out there. WRT Celigo you'd be buying a lot more than just a tool to upload work orders. You can skip the CSV process and do all your uploads directly from Excel, even pre-validating your data before it's uploaded.

@Suleiry Matos Celigo would definitely work, and as Chris mentioned, you'd get more than just this script, but you'd also be paying monthly for it since you would get more. Custom scripts are generally one time fees and can be customized to your exact specs. If you're interested in a scripted solution, and you don't have a consultant who can do it for you, DM me

@Chris Corcoran not the cost the time it ay take to do something like this ?
@AK47 my client already pays for celigo but i think custom scripts would be the best route just was wondering how long each option would take and the pros and cons
c
@Suleiry Matos 10-30 minutes the 1st time around, after that, just a few minutes. As @AK47 mentioned Celigo Apps are subscription based. IF you continue to use the app there's an advantage to that in that new features are launched regularly, its' approved by NetSuite via a rigorous Built for NetSuite process each quarter, includes complimentary training, etc.

@Suleiry Matos, what time do you mean? the time to implement and setup or the time to execute the import? for the former, it depends on the companies needs and the complexity of their setup. for the latter, i'd say a custom script is going to run just as fast as Celigo or any other integration. The integrations are ultimately a scripted solution as well, so it's not that much different. The biggest differences between the options will be cost, flexibility, and extendability. The custom script will be the cheapest but is also likely to be the most rigid solution. The integration route will be more expensive due to subscription based billing but is likely more dynamic and possibly user friendly, again, depending on client needs. Overall, it's a very loaded question that really only you can answer best since you know your client's needs and we don't.
