Is there any functionality available to have files stored in an FTP folder sourced, and imported to NS? Use case: vendor wants to submit PO updates to this folder. Folder is sourced and used for automated CSV imports against POs.
k
Yeah, this is pretty standard functionality.
Well.. probably better said as "standard fare"
not necessarily standard functionality.
I've been on projects several times where this has been done
n
How would the connection between the file and the desired action in NS be setup? Custom script?
k
It should be noted - if you are wanting to do item receipts from the PO - this can't be done with a CSV import.
but if you are updating the PO itself, yeah, that's doable
n
No item receipts, just custom body fields and line level columns.
k
Yeah, it's generally a custom script - my former employer RSM has an accelerator they use as the basis for doing it (as it's a pretty common thing)
n
Understood, thank you kindly.
k
My current employer does it as well- I'd have to find out if we had an accelerator as well, my expectation would be yes.
there's one on suiteapp.com though I've never used it, so have zero feedback on it

@KevinJ of Kansas For a permanent/critical production solution I would avoid free bundles created by NetSuite like the sFTP-Connector, in my experience: 1- Free bundles are eventually abandoned. 2- Any problem with that bundle and you will be dealing with NetSuite Support(no a good experience in my opinion).
