As for the hypoallergenic dogs, hairless cats, I have an allergy to cat saliva, so hair or not, I wouldn’t be able to tolerate it. I know regular cats lick their fur. Do hairless ones still bathe themselves? We briefly owned a bedlington terrier a few years ago, a dog with curly hair (not fur), that was supposedly hypoallergenic. My son was still allergic to her anyway. We’ve pretty much determined no cat or dog would be good for us.

Hairless cats do groom themselves, but they do a terrible job. Apparently hairless cats get super greasy skin since there's no hair to help absorb it. If you don't bathe them regularly, you will find grease on whatever they lay on or rub against. 🤮
