I really hate these recruiters reaching out from LinkedIn, seems like they don't look at the profiles of the folks they are cold calling diligently. Getting bothered by them for entry level position when my LinkedIn profile clearly shows that I have been around in this industry for over 20yrs. I used to ignore them all together, but now a days I do respond and tell them that they should research a bit more before cold calling.

Seems like they just control-f "netsuite" and just send a message to everybody that fits it.

or may be they have created AI bot to skim through Linkedin profiles for keywords
yikes 1

I think LinkedIn gives you those tools if you pay them and tell them you are a recruiter as well.

Workable ATS does have an AI feature which curates multiple sources to get possible SME profiles.
Best recruiter cold call I ever had was about 7 years ago: from Canopy Growth (world's largest Weed company by market cap) - he said that unlimited product sampling may be available as part of of the package weedweed🤣🤣

I mean for research what would that company be? 😄
I just tell them they are looking for someone way more jr. Especially when they tell you the $$$ involved. Like what did you think? You not only want a developer w/ a college degree, you want a dev in a niche industry with a super specific set of skills. Not only do you want those skills, you want certifications of those skills from Oracle. Why is that not worth more than the average dev?
And also a dev that can gather requirements, manage projects and interface with customers.. for the cost of less than 1 dev position. Im 1000% over it
IMO, what most people need is a part time admin or dev. I'm totally wanting to just start my own LLC and provide these 2 services. Like just services for smaller companies that don't need to have full staff.

I am doing that on the side - moonlighting
c
Yeah I do that too but I'm talking fully quit my current job and do it. Its too easy to make a shitload of money right now. Get in, make any changes or updates and move on. If you need a support agreement, charge a monthly fee to stay on and they use it or lose it.

retainer is always good
c
Yeah retainer sorry was escaping me
s
dude you are getting old
are going suiteworld this year?
c
There's too many absolute shit netsuite partners messing up peoples accounts and not knowing stuff like "this is native we should not script this" and then im in there doing work and have to work around what they attempted to do.

c
Yeah. 37 and grey as hell
s
kids will do that

I think a lot of these smaller NS partners started out just like that - one or two folks just doing independent consulting and getting over busy so, expansion!
s
Celigo was started by Jan Arnedtsz in 2006 as one of the first NS partner - he did the implementation for the company I worked for in 2007 - he had just one othr guy with him and now Celigo is a big player.

Yep I agree with both of you. I know I can do it I just need to get some clients. I have no interest really in the licensing side of NetSuite but thats probably where the real money is.
