@creece I am extensively familiar with @tdietrich's tool. I use it for many hours a day. I'm looking for a few key features such as autocomplete, a file structure to organize queries and a way to dynamically generate user facing reports. I am about halfway there.

@Alan Fitch Which opensource editor are you planning on using? I wrote a little one using the monaco editor and jet components inside a suitelet that connects to the live schema for autocompletion
