Not sure but if you do a custom record make sure you scope it out properly. Not sure what your use case is but it is worth noting that local councils can have their own holidays that replace state ones, and SA and QLD have part day holidays around Christmas and New Years

Yep yep. for now the client only wants VIC holidays but I said we have to consider different states have different holidays

So yea quick example of this, Geelong doesn't celebrate the Melbourne cup, they have their own cup day

This is a good place to start, but doesn't give you it any more granular then state https://data.gov.au/dataset/ds-dga-b1bc6077-dadd-4f61-9f8c-002ab2cdff10/details it can be accessed via API so you can automatically update it.

I would also add certain public holidays can change during the year... AFL Grand Final Day being an example, however if its for the purposes of timesheets probably not going to be an issue.

Thanks everyone. At the moment the "Clients budget" does not allow much wiggle room. So sticking with a basic custom record. But will need to add region and not only the state.
