So we were upgraded to 2020.2 and as part of the release, Sales Channel, Department, and Geo were added to the subscription lines we can no longer edit existing subscriptions since those fields are mandatory, the Subscription itself has Department Class and Geo, but since the line added the new fields how do you populate for existing subs? We cannot add this to active subs and are unable to do anything to active subs. Is there a way to source these, or do a CSV import to populate with the sub information?

Hi, we faced the exact same problem and it was a pain in the behind to find fixes. First put a ticket into NS support and escalated with your account rep if possible. NS told us part of it was a defect and part of it was they back-filled these values for us based on the config of DCL (dept class location) from the item record or the subscription header, if they existed. We faced the same issue where active subscriptions cannot be edited and we still haven’t found a way. The impact of missing these fields AND having DCL mandatory means your auto renewals will error out and not create. You can view that in subscription renewal status page. This means you have to disable mandatory DCL, manually renew your error’ed subscription renewals, then csv import update the missing DCL for the renewal subs, then turn DCL mandatory back on.
Makes me wanna chuck SuiteBilling out the window since 2020.2

That is what I was afraid of, I will launch a case. In the case of renewals, we csv import the renewals from Salesforce so I changed the import mapping to sent DCL to the subscription header and the subscription line. I might try to make a workflow to set the values based on the customer DCL to backfill the existing acrive subs, I will let you know if I get a different story from NS
