Hi, I want to run a depreciation for an asset that is disposed and for secondary book only. Here is what I did. I changed the asset status to “Depreciating” and Depreciation Active to “True” and selected secondary book under accounting books when running the depreciation. But, i was not successful. It didn’t run the depreciation. Does anyone knows how to run a depreciation for a disposed asset and just for one book only? Please share your inputs on this. Thanks.
k
you cannot have a disposed asset in one book and un-disposed one in another. When you dispose an asset you dispose it period; the book only tells you how it is done.

Hi Karina, thanks for your quick response. What we did was that we depreciated an asset only for primary accounting and didn’t depreciate it for secondary book at all. So our business user wants to run the depreciation just for secondary book. The way i tried is that i changed the asset status to depreciating, Depreciation Active to “True” and ran depreciation just for secondary book. But, it didn’t run it. I was thinking it could be because of asset NVB is 0.00

@NS User - yes, that’s correct. Essentially, everything you do with an asset reflects in both books, it is just the method it records depreciation is different, that is all.

Hi Karina, Just fyi. I am able to run the depreciation successfully for a disposed asset.
Here is what i did. Changed asset status to depreciating, depreciation active to true, also changed the FAM alternative method deprecition active to true then i ran pre-compute depreciation

@NS User - I am glad it worked for you!
