2400 took 2-3 hrs. Last time I ran 24000 it was over 13 hrs. No scripts and no workflows running.

When I do mass uploads, I try to do them at night or on weekends and it definitely does it a lot faster then. You may be able to try using Celigo's free import tool as well - that might be a bit faster. Check out out on their website.
