Is Netsuite OneWorld an add on module? Or does it require a new instance? Didn't see it as a possible add-on in the Billing Information page
j
You need it to be turned on by your account manager
b
do you know if OneWorld shouldn't require a new instance from your knowledge? I am preparing someone before they go to their account manager
thatd be really interesting to know that some accounts require a new instance / reset and others do not for OneWorld (based on age of instance)
j
so we are prepping for OneWorld and we don’t need a new instance
our account is from 2007 or so
NS has been spectacularly unhelpful re: our questions about OW
b
that's good to know, this instance is also super old and their account manager has been trying to nudge them for a reset for a few years, so I am having to work with someone there to solve a few defects and answer basic questions lol. you have been super helpful as usual Jen!

New accounts starting a few years ago basically had OW turned on from inception, you just need to pay to "unlock" it. It's my understanding there's no real upgrade process necessary on newer accounts. Before that though, it is kind of off as I understood it, so there is a limited upgrade process you need to go through to get it going. It's not too bad although the more features you're using, the trickier it is.

We converted a single company instance to a OneWorld account. At the time needed NS assistance and a 'tool' installed as we were sub-ordinating the original subsidiary into the hierarchy as original sub became the parent by default.

I think NS has basically made every account a oneworld account - regardless of age now. With the additional subsidiaries not able to be created until you purchase the licensing. Makes it way less stressful than it used to be.

Yeah the one thing that you need is the hierarchy tool like @Netsuite Tragic mentioned to mess with your sub structure. That's built into base NetSuite though now.
