Hello, looking for advice in relation to item transaction emails. Is workflow really the best option to deliver customized emails for confirmation, order shipped...ect emails?

I prefer workflow to saved search email, but scripting is another good option as well

But in order to customize fulfillment emails I'd have to use saved search correct?

We are using workflow for fulfilment emails. There's no such restriction.
