Hi @Aaron. There are a couple of things to check if a field is not showing up as "Editable" on the search results. First ... given this is a Transaction based search, is MainLine = T set as part of the Search Criteria? That is a requirement for transaction based inline editing. Next, if you have multiple Opportunity forms, confirm this field is set to display on the Opportunity form set as Preferred, whether globally or as part of a User Role. Lastly, sometimes it requires all forms of the same Transaction Type display the field. If the first two items don't solve the issue, try applying the field to all Opportunity forms and see if that does the trick.

Hi, thanks for the answer. I think the problem here is the Main Line criteria. Main Line is missing from the drop down menu. I found it under "Actual fields" So the field is now Actual : Main Line. I don't think this is working since the saved search is returning multiple rows from the same transaction.
I checked that the field is displayed in the preferred form and all the others as well.

If you are seeing multiple rows from the same transaction on the search results, you need to modify the search criteria and set MainLine = Yes (ie true). You should have a line that looks like this ...

Yes I understood that. However, I don't have the field available at all:
message has been deleted
What I found is Actual : Main Line and that is set to be True
message has been deleted
But that one does not fix the problem

@Aaron Aha! I was able to repeat the behavior your describe (missing the MainLine option). After some digging I found a tech note in SuiteAnswers #14260 that indicates MainLine is not exposed as a filter when creating an Opportunity Search using the path Transactions -> Sales -> Create Opportunities -> Search. However, you can work around this. Create a search from Reports -> New Search. Select Transactions as the Search Type. Then rebuild your search criteria using the options as shown in my earlier post (Type = Opportunity etc.) You'll be able to set the MainLine filter this way. Include your custom field in the results ... fingers crossed you'll have access to inline editing.

Thank you! That fixed the problem, I was now able to get the Main Line criteria and it is working. Thanks for your effort!
Hi Rick, can you attach this custom saved search to the opportunities view? So whenever we open the list of opportunities, we can see our custom saved search? I tried to set this as preferred from the check boxes as well as available as dashboard view and sublist view and also to show in menu. But I cannot choose it from the view field in the screenshot. It has only the ones that have been copied or created by clicking the New Search button on the opportunities view. And there we couldn't get the Main line criteria.
