Any status update for WebStsorm 2019.2.3 (not having to dial back the JDK version)?

Hey Darren. We are working on it, SDK Version is definitely solved, but we have other compatibilities to support that are WIP (multiple projects for example). We are taking care of this type of issue to reduce the risk of this happening again (libraries and version dependencies). I expect to deliver the upgrade soon.

Is the best-practice at the moment to stay with the newer WebStorm and just downgrade the JDK? I currently have a dual install of WebStorm 2018.3.6 just for SDF and 2019.2.3 for everything else. But now I’m wondering if they are both using the downgraded JDK.

WebStorm 2018.X uses Java 8 by default, and 2019.2,x uses Java 11. In regards of our tools there are no changes that leverage features coming from WebStorm, so if you want to use the latest features that WS offers but you need SDF you could downgrade the JDK version. If on the other hand, you use WebStorm just for NetSuite customization and you don´t use/need the latest enhancements from the IntelliJ tool, then you could stay in 2018 (or even in 2019.1 without making downgrades). In the upgrade in which we are working, we are considering the WebStorm enhancements to be compatible with our plugin (is not only the JDK version).

When you say SDK, are you referring to the SDF Plugin? I think I may be confused.

I meant JDK (Java Development Kit) was a typo

Makes complete sense. Thanks for that. I actually only use WebStorm for my NS enhancements so I’ll stick with the previous version of WS until the updated plugin is released. Good to know I can uninstall the newer version of WS for the time being.
