Question: A finance user noticed that a project marked Status : Closed can still be selected on a bill. I can't find anything in the documentations about how to stop this. One thought was to create a workflow that would mark it as inactive when closed, but not sure of potential issues at the moment.

The workflow solution is what we do. Marking the project as inactive removes it from being accessible on transactions.

@Kyle how do you allow finance to be able to post final journals or rev rec to inactive projects? We usually want to inactivate them to stop users from posting more transactions against the project, but finance gets frustrated because there are still final entries that need to be posted and cannot because it is inactive? Do you run into this?

@AI1 Yup - Sadly, they just have to be reopened for finance and then re-closed. We have a few workflows that automate the re-closing process which helps. But ultimately it's a bit of a manual process.
