With 2019.1 they're introducing an update to project profitability reports where it calculates the profitability once per night so it can show it to you right away; and then you can just re-calculate if you need to during the day. Ours usually only take up to 5 minutes though so it could be another issue happening with yours if it's taking that long (unless you have a looot of projects?)
