I am trying a new costing method "Lot Number" for our lot numbered items. So If receive 3 lot numbers(10 qty each) as below
a. Lot_20 at $20
b. Lot_30 at $20
c. Lot_40 at $40
The system averages out the cost at $30. When I ship out Lot_40 it still assigns cost as $30, behaving exactly like average costing. How can we get different cost for different lot numbers?

So NetSuite will initially create the transaction using average cost - and then it will adjust it later when the costing engine recalculates.

So check again in hour/two/eight depending on account volume

It should be noted - lot numbered costing is a significant drain on resources, and thus strongly discouraged

Thanks Kevin. It worked after costing engine update. I will keep your recommendation in mind. So far we only plan to use for one item

field on item record that is normally hidden ' cost accounting status' shows when the costing engine has run on the item. Other option is specific costing method, beware this isn't compatible with WIP manufacturing.
