Sorry, I think I found the answer. The user can actually override the scheduled inventory costing during the month-end closing. When closing a period, the Run Inventory Costing button is available when performing Review Inventory Cost Accounting. This button overrides the Schedule Inventory Costing by manually triggering a costing run.
