on Inventory Adjustment record, When I type in the item number I see 94, but when I click on the inventory detail I see 101, does anyone know how would I adjust out the 7 that's sitting in nowhere land, It is not on the bin putaway worksheet, on the item record it shows in a particular bin.
k
edit the view on the page you see the different number and change the criteria from "greater than 0" to "not equal to zero" - that will show you where your negative inventory is - and then you can do a inventory adjustment to modify the negative to zero, and your positive to what's actually there
Then you can do your inventory adjustment to adjust the actual on hand counts.
s
hmm on the item record it shows 101, but not sure where the 101 is. I see the bin number, but again, Available is 94.
t
Does your "On Hand" also show 94? You may have 7 committed, so only 94 available + 7 committed = 101 On Hand. Alternatively, if you are using RF Smart, some quantities may be hiding in a setup or picked bin.
s
it's something funky going on here.
77 are available + 7 are committed that equals to 94 but inventory detail shows 209. I am just worried about outside processing so i am talking about 101

Can I see what it shows if you click on the "Bin Numbers" tab of that screenshot? Also, show me where the 101 number is coming from.
k
Customize your inventory detail view and change the on hand to "not equal to zero" instead of greater than zero. You have to have negative inventory.
s
I did that but i am only seeing this two lot numbers and the bin numbers
k
Did someone do a bin putaway worksheet and then go back and edit the item receipt to have a bin?
s
i see the negative number

k
Tadaa - now you move inventory around using inventory adjustments, and the right bins and the right quantities to set your negative to zero - and adjust down your positive values.

s
that negative quantity doesn't have the bin though
k
Try looking for bin putaway worksheets that hit that serial number then
and then edit the bin putaway worksheet to not have that amount/number.
s
It is the same serial number as the other bin, so looks like someone deleted the bin putaway maybe?
k
Not if it makes the no bin value negative.
Most likely someone did an item receipt to no bin
then someone did a bin putaway worksheet
then someone went back and played revisionist history and updated the item receipt with the bin
and now the bin putaway worksheet was putting away inventory that didn't already exist.
s
ooo you might be onto something let me check that
k
Revisionist history on inventory is a dangerous game. Sometimes it makes life easier - other times it creates dead/bad records.
s
oo this going to be fun, this is asssembly item not something we buy
k
maybe it was a deleted bin transfer tranasction?
Either way - your best bet at this point is probably to uncheck the "use bins" box on the item - then save it - then check it again save it - and then do a bin putaway worskheet to reflect reality
s
Yea i do see three Bin transfer that were deleted but unfortunately that won't tell me which items were on that bin transfer
