For those with bins, sales orders display backordered items for a location but is there a way to get sales orders to display back ordered items for a bin? So that we can perform bin transfers prior to the fulfillment?

You cannot manage this information at a bin level, but if you use inventory status you may be able to control what is "available" to get what you want if the product is only fulfilled out of one primary bin at that location.
