If you assign costs to your inventory to affect its value, you’ll have to remove the other lines from the P&L or else those costs would be double counted. That is, of course, if you are trying to actually change the value of the inventory (which it seemed like from your question you were). If you’re only trying to account for costs on orders for reporting purposes you could add a handling line to every order.
