No we have an item record and for each piece manufactured, we are assigning a lot number to track each unique piece from purchase to the sales cycle. This way when we are fulfilling an item, we can pick a specific lot. From the comments above it sounds like this is what a 'serial number' is supposed to do, not a 'lot number' correct?
