Thanks for your reply, @alien4u. How about Inventory Adjustment? They wanted to adjust the Average Cost in the Item Record.

I'm not cost expert but I dont think modifying average cost is a general good practice because is base in a calculation, if people on your company think is wrong is because something else was wrong...
Average (weighted-average method) – Inventory costing is calculated as the total units available during a specific date range divided by the beginning inventory cost plus the cost of additions to inventory.

Reestablish the Average Cost or Total Value by creating an Inventory Adjustment to zero out the quantity/value of the Lot Numbered item.

After resetting the values, create another Inventory Adjustment to add back the quantities and assign the desired Average Cost and generate a new Total Value.
