On the Costed Bill of Materials Inquiry page, I select my Assembly build and BOM revision, and I get a Top Level Unit Cost. It lists out all the components and their price and it adds up to the total unit cost. I have manufacturing routing on the assembly that has some labor cost assigned to it. I would think my total unit cost would be components plus labor charges, however, on the Costed Bill of Materials Inquiry page, it doesn't include the labor. Is there another report where I can see true cost of the assembly item?
s
If you use standard cost, you should be able to see the same on Revalue inventory cost page.
c
I do use STD cost, I'll check it out
s
Look at the effective date on costed bill of material, I checked n it does include labor on mine
c
Interesting I have the effective date and it doesn't include the labor that I have on the manufacturing routing....
wondering if I'm missing something
s
Look at your manufacturing cost templates?
c
I have assembly labor at 19.44
I have the routing as a default on the assembly
Would I add the Assembly Labor item as part of my BOM? How would it know to only do the time on the routing?
s
look at the router and see what cost template is associated with it
every router has a cost template, It is a mandatory field
c
with my assembly labor
s
yes you have the correct setup with runtime n labor resource n everything, it should account for it
c
so the labor item does not need to be on the component list?
s
no
c
ok, odd
s
if it's here it will take care of it self
on the router
go to inventory cost revalution page, you should see assembly labour as one of the component
for the item in question
labor is not part of your BOM, BOM is only component you are using to make this assembly
c
Looking at the Item Cost Revaluation, the assembly labor is there
s
then that's it the labor is accounted for
look at the cost on there on the top right side it should be same as costed bill of material for the same time frame
c
word, I just found it odd that its not on the inquiry one
s
they both should be same
c
It is the same
s
then you are good right?
c
But your labor cost shows up on Costed Bill of Materials Inquiry?
Ya I was just hoping for a report that showed the true cost for all items
s
it doesn't break it down
c
I'm sure I can create one
s
you can create a search with inventory cost revalution

and on the filter put the item, department, class so you can filter by whatever you need

what type of search did you use. Can't find those fields in a transaction search, which is what I thought inventory revaluation would be since its listed as a type
s
I did it on planned standard cost as that is the only record where I could find all the fields
