04/30/2020, 4:33 PMno sorry for the confusion not matrix item, i was just using that as an example. we are medical device manufacturer, we make the tube here and then the to make incision we send it out, so when the tube comes back with incision it is a different part number also another caviet is sometimes it comes back to our warehouse for additional work, and few things goes directly from that vendor to the customer

04/30/2020, 9:01 PMYeah so my thoughts were to put the tube as an item code. The tube would be a component to an assemby item (call it Tube-Y) . Another component of the assembly item could be a "Charge" item which is the cost to make the incision

04/30/2020, 10:07 PMyou could theoretically do a transfer order of the tube to "Vendor location" , have the assembly build at the vendor location then ship from that location but that might be overkill
