@martin.hambalek When you go to a WO and you click Create Build you will get an Assembly Build page and there you can select the location where you want that to be build.
m
@alien4u I did a build on a WO and found there is a Location field on the Build header, but it's the location from which the components are sourced from. I don't see where I can nominate a different location for the FG.
a
The Assembly Build location should be the location where the Assembly would be created, no where the components are coming from... I would have to try but I thing I did that before...
m
If I change it to where I'd like it to be built (i.e. CM #2), it shows that there's no component inventory at that location. Only in the location of CM #1.
a
@martin.hambalek That weird or my memory is just failing...
m
The online help for that field suggests it's the component's location AND the location where the FG will be put. So it doesn't seem like the system will do what I want.
a
Then another option would be to create a custom field(TO LOCATION) at the Assembly build level and make an script that would transfer the finish good to the location selected in that custom field after the Assembly Build is created... automatically in the background...
Is perfectly doable and not really complex but is require scripting...
m
I looked into using a workflow because I have no one here that can script. I can't create an Inventory Transfer txn from a workflow. But you're right, scripting should handle this.
