Hello, I'm new to suitetalk, I know pretty much nothing. . I've a fairly good understanding of suitescript. I got assigned to a new project that will require 2 suitetalk integrations, what's the best way to get up and running?
b
suitetalk is now too generic
there is now a restful api and a soap api
m
I would recommend getting an external tool called postman. It has helped me to better understand the data flow and connection processes when learning about NetSuite integrations.
m
@battk So, is it a bad idea to implement suitetalk on a new project I'm about to take on? I'm going to be the lead dev there so It's a good time to decide on that.
Previous lead dev suggested not to use RESTlets or Suitelets and so on, exclusively Suitetalk. We need communicate bidirectionally with Sharepoint and some 3rd party CRM they have
b
generally you pick whichever you feel more comfortable with
if you want to be more professional about it, you need to identify your requirements and determine if whatever integration method can support those requirements
m
thanks, yeah actually I have never used suitetalk and they are just throwing me in there expecting me to use it for this decently sized project. I don't think I should be doing suitetalk, maybe have our suitetalk guy with more experience on it do it? It is my understanding you don't learn suitetalk in one week and expect to take on a 4 month project around it.
b
thats not really something i help on
i dont think telling people battks says to use or not use suitetalk is gonna help here
m
yeah, sorry I didn't mean for it to sound that way.
