so the date on the custom record is a deadline date. if there is a deadline date for that "project" and that project is the one referenced in that sales order the deadline date field on the sales order is supposed to populate with this field. if there is not date i need the option of letting the user put in their own date on the sales order. Hence why i do not souce the SO field when the field was created.
