Does anyone know how to have Advanced Approvals "reset" to recognize newly named approvers and/or delegates? We have several things in queue for approval, and an employee has left. Short of "super approving", what should we do?
@KevinJ of Kansas do you know? I see you have commented on other Advanced Approvals threads. 😛
k
Off the top of my head I dont. Have you looked at the advanced approvals user guide yet?
Surely this is addressed in it
j
I have.
The user guide says "Terminated employees with pending transactions for approval should be delegated or Super Approver should approve the pending transactions.".. However, when we delegate, it doesn't update the next approver nor does it show the approval buttons to the person delegated.
k
What type of rules are you using?
are they set up to not allow delegating?
j
It seems like the delegation is only working on net new entries, not on bills already in pending approval.
s
which context do you have it on? see if you can change the context and also if you cannot change the context try changing amount or quantity and change it back to original
k
@Suitestallion This is advanced approvals - not a standard workflow
s
Aha never mind
c
@Jacob I've gotten delegation to work on net new entry, provided the record is sitting in the correct state of the AA workflow. Delegation is performed via scheduled script hourly when in that state. Is your terminated employee inactive?
j
@Catherine Fray, thanks for this! I discovered the scheduled script today as well. Lesson learned: just go to HH and take a breath! 😛 I wish they'd also update the "user guide" for advanced approvals to advise users that it is done via scheduled script. Have a great evening!
