I am trying to work with duplicate detection on a vendor field (taxidnum), but it doesn't seem to work (I assume because it's a text field). The workaround I came up with is to have a workflow place that value into a custom inline field that has store value checked. It seems to work, but I was wondering if there is a simpler solution I am missing. Secondly for duplicate detection is there a setting to allow it to detect based only just 1 of the criteria or is it only all or nothing?
