Certainly possible. It would have to be a Client Script using one of

Validate Field

Field Changed

, or

Post Sourcing

event functions. You could maybe open the developer console in your browser just to see if any error message shows up there (typically just hit F12 in most browsers on Windows, not sure about MacOS)
